who have sharpened their tongues as a sword; they have bent their bow maliciously;

"Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.

But now you yourselves are to put off all [these]: wrath, anger, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.

But if you have bitter jealousy and strife in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth.

This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.

"Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun set on your anger,

A passionate man acts inconsiderately, but a sensible man bears up under many things.

The threatening of a king is like the roaring of a lion, but as dew on the grass, so is his favor.

Be not hasty in your spirit to be angry; for anger will rest in the bosom of fools.

For I am afraid, lest perhaps when I come, I will not find you as I desire, and that I will be found by you as you do not desire; lest perhaps there [be] contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, disputes, slanders, gossipings, pride, disorders;

idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,

But now you yourselves are to put off all [these]: wrath, anger, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

But reject foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they bring forth fights.

For a bishop must be unimpeachable, as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,

So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;

But if you have bitter jealousy and strife in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth.

For where jealousy and strife [exist], there unrest and every evil deed [are].

Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those making peace.

From where [come] wars and disputes among you? Is it not from here, from your lusts, which war in your members?

You lust and you do not have. You murder and are jealous and you cannot obtain. You fight and make war. You do not have because you do not ask.

And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah, and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we are older than you, we have also an interest in David above you: and why have you thus insulted us, and why was not our advice taken before that of Judah, to bring back our king? And the speech of the men of Judah was sharper than the speech of the men of Israel.

And there was a transgressor there, and his name was Sheba, a Benjamite, the son of Bichri: and he blew the trumpet, and said, We have no portion in David, neither have we [any] inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel!

And all the men of Israel went up from following David after Sheba the son of Bichri; but the men of Judah adhered to their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.

A wise man shall judge nations, but a worthless man being angry laughs and does not fear.

A furious man stirs up strife, and a passionate man digs up sin.

And hearing, and becoming full of anger, they were crying out saying, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"

And the whole city was filled with confusion, and they rushed with one purpose into the theater, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, traveling companions of Paul.

And all the city was aroused; and there was a mob forming of the people, and taking hold of Paul they were dragging him outside the temple; and immediately the doors were shut.

Now they were listening to him until this statement, and they lifted their voice saying, "Take away such a [man] from the earth, for it is not fitting [for] him to live!"

And as they were crying out and throwing off their clothes, and throwing dust in the air,

not given to wine, not a bully, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not loving money;

he is puffed up, understanding nothing, but [is] morbidly concerned with disputes and word battles, from which come envy, strife, slanders, evil suspicions,

constant wranglings of men of corrupt minds and having been deprived of the truth, supposing that godliness is a means of profit. Withdraw from such [people].

You shall not walk deceitfully among your people; you shall not rise up against the blood of your neighbor: I am the Lord your God.

And he has dealt deceitfully with your servant to my lord the king. But my lord the king [is] like an angel of God; do that which is good in your eyes.

Who has not spoken craftily with his tongue, neither has done evil to his neighbor, nor taken up a reproach against them that dwell nearest to him.

You sat and spoke against your brother, and scandalized your mother's son.

Him that secretly speaks against his neighbor, him have I driven from [me]; he that is proud in look and insatiable in heart- with him I have not eaten.

A talkative man shall not prosper on the earth: evils shall hunt the unrighteous man to destruction.

An unjust witness kindles falsehoods, and brings on quarrels between brothers.

Righteous lips cover enmity, but they that utter railings are most foolish.

Fear casts down the slothful, and the souls of the effeminate shall hunger.

The north wind raises clouds; so an impudent face provokes the tongue.

With much wood fire increases, but where there is not a double-minded man, strife ceases.

[They are] all disobedient, walking perversely. [They are] brass and iron; they are all corrupted.

Beware, each of his neighbor, and trust not in your brother, for everyone will surely supplant, and every friend will walk craftily.

having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, greed, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness; they are whisperers,

slanderers, hateful to God, insolent men, proud, braggarts, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

Likewise their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things.

And besides they learn to be idle, going around from house to house, and not only idle but also gossipy and busybodies, speaking things [which are] not proper.

unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, not loving what is good,

Older women likewise are to be reverent in demeanor, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teaching what is good,

to slander no one, to be peaceable, gentle, demonstrating all meekness to all men.

Do not speak evil of one another, brothers. He who speaks evil against a brother and judges his brother speaks against the law and judges the law. And if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

Therefore having put away all malice, all guile, hypocrisy, envy, and all slanders,

and especially those who walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness and despise authority. They are bold, self-willed, illustrious persons, they do not tremble at blaspheming,

whereas angels, being greater in might and in power, do not bring a slanderous judgment against them before the Lord.

Likewise indeed even these [filthy] dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme glories.

But these speak blasphemously of those things which they do not know; but what they do know naturally, like unreasoning animals, they are destroyed by these things.

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ, because the accuser of our brothers, the [one] who accused them before our God day and night, has been thrown [out of heaven].

And Cain said to Abel his brother, Let us go out into the plain. And it came to pass, that when they were in the plain, Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and killed him.

And Esau was angry with Jacob because of the blessing, with which his father blessed him; and Esau said in his mind, Let the days of my father's mourning draw near, that I may kill my brother Jacob.

And his brothers, seeing that his father loved him more than all his sons, hated him, and could not speak anything peaceable to him.

And Reuben, having heard it, rescued him out of their hands, and said, Let us not kill him.

You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall surely rebuke your neighbor, so you shall not bear sin on his account.

And your hand shall not avenge you; and you shall not be angry with the children of your people; and you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord

And Absalom spoke not to Amnon, [neither] good or bad, because Absalom hated Amnon, on account of his humbling of his sister Tamar.

Hatred stirs up strife, but affection covers all that do not love strife.

A weeping enemy promises all things with his lips, but in his heart he contrives deceit.

Though your enemy intreat you with a loud voice, consent not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.

Be not hasty in your spirit to be angry; for anger will rest in the bosom of fools.

having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, greed, malice; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness; they are whisperers,

So then let us observe the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Brothers, do not be children in your understanding; rather, in malice be children, but in understanding be men.

But now you yourselves are to put off all [these]: wrath, anger, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, being enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

not as Cain who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his works were evil and the [works] of his brother were righteous.

Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
