Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law [comes] [the] knowledge of sin.

Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through the law of faith.

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

For if Abraham was justified by works, he has [grounds for] boasting, but not before God.

for [the children] not yet being born, nor having done anything good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might abide, not of works but of Him who calls,

So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God who shows mercy.

And if by grace, [it is] no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if [it is] of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

so that no flesh may boast before God.

that, as it is written, "He that boasts, let him boast in the LORD."

who having saved us, and having called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time [itself],

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, being enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
