knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by [the] faith of Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by [the] faith of Christ and not by [the] works of the law; because no flesh shall be justified by [the] works of the law.

Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised the others:

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men--swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

And the tax collector, standing far away, would not so much as lift his eyes towards heaven, but beat on his chest, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!'

because the law produces wrath; for where there is no law neither is there transgression.

For I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, but I died.

For sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, deceived me, and by it, killed me.

Then has that which is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through that which is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.

Therefore the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it does not submit to the law of God, nor indeed can it.

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse:

and a curse, if you do not hearken to the commands of the Lord our God, as many as I command you this day, and you wander from the way which I have commanded you, having gone to serve other gods, which you know not.

God shall by no means be willing to pardon him, but then the wrath of the Lord and His jealousy shall flame out against that man; and all the curses of this covenant shall attach themselves to him, which are written in this book, and the Lord shall blot out his name from under heaven.

And the princes have defiled My sanctuaries; so I gave Jacob [to enemies] to destroy, and Israel to reproach.

"Then He will also say to those on the left, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels:

Cursed is every man that continues not in all the words of this law, to do them. And all the people shall say, So be it.

And you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Cursed is the man who shall not heed the words of this covenant

For all souls are Mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son, they are Mine: the soul that sins, it shall die.

Now we know that as many things as the law says, it speaks to those under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law [comes] [the] knowledge of sin.

For the wages of sin [is] death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

For He who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "You shall not murder." Now if you do not commit adultery, but [yet] you murder, [then] you have become a transgressor of the law.
