And I will speak to the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and by the means of the prophets I was represented.

In the sun He has set His tabernacle; and He came forth as a bridegroom out of His chamber; He will exalt as a giant to run His course.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor yet bread to the wise, nor yet wealth to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of knowledge; for time and chance will happen to them all.

Your feet run, and they cause you to faint; how will you prepare [to ride] upon horses? And you have been confident in the land of your peace? How will you do in the roaring of the Jordan?

Therefore I run thus: not as without a goal, thus I box: not as one beating the air.

And I went up by revelation, and I set before them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those with influence, lest somehow I might run, or had run, for nothing.

You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth?

holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain or labored in vain.

I press toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved His appearing.

So therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every impediment, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Blessed is the man who endures temptation; because when he is approved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love Him.

I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no man may take your crown.
