[ 6:6] And the Lord God, having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that everyone in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually,

And the Lord God smelled an aroma of sweetness, and the Lord God having considered, said, I will never again curse the earth, because of the works of men, because the imagination of man is intently bent upon evil things from his youth, I will never again smite all living flesh as I have done.

For who shall be pure from uncleanness? Not even one;

For who, being a mortal, [is such] that he shall be blameless? Or [who that is] born of a woman, that he should be just?

Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.

For how shall a mortal be just before the Lord? Or who that is born of a woman shall purify himself?

For behold, I was conceived in iniquities, and in sins did my mother conceive me.

and we have all become as unclean, and all our righteousness is as a filthy rag; and we have fallen as leaves because of our iniquities; thus the wind shall carry us [away].

For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

For from within, out of the heart of men, come forth evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

All these evil things come from within and defile a man."

If you then, being evil, know [how] to give good gifts to your children, by how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"

And you [He made alive], being dead in transgressions and sins,

among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the senses, and were by nature children of wrath, as also the rest.

even when we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, being enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

that he no longer should live the remaining time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions aroused through the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself with the mind serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

For what [was] impossible [for] the law to do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and concerning sin, He condemned sin in the flesh,

For those who are fleshly set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those [who live] according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

Therefore the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it does not submit to the law of God, nor indeed can it.

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit indwelling in you.

For if you live according to the flesh you shall die; but if by [the] Spirit you put to death the practices of the body, you will live.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for [its] lusts.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are: adultery, fornication, immorality, lewdness,

envies, murders, drinking bouts, revelries, and the like; which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

For what I am doing, I do not know. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, this I do.

For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, this I practice.

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself with the mind serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

O that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes.

I ran the way of Your commandments, when You enlarged my heart.

Behold, I have desired Your commandments; revive me in Your righteousness.

Depart from me, You evildoers; for I will search out the commandments of my God.

Help me, and I shall be saved; and I will meditate on Your statutes continually.

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these things oppose each other, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

for it is God who is working in you, both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Not that I have already obtained, or have already been made perfect; but I press on, if also I may lay hold of that for which I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
