Now we know that as many things as the law says, it speaks to those under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Behold, you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and boast in God,

You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God through the transgression of the law?

For if Abraham was justified by works, he has [grounds for] boasting, but not before God.

And I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall know that I am the Lord,

that you may remember, and be ashamed, and may no more be able to open your mouth for your shame, when I am reconciled to you for all that you have done, says the Lord.

And you shall remember your evil ways and your practices that were not good, and you shall be hateful in your own sight for your transgressions and for your abominations.

Not for your sakes do I do [this], says the Lord God, [as] it is known to you; be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

In that day you shall not be ashamed of all your practices, where you have transgressed against Me: for then will I take away from you your disdainful pride, and you shall no more magnify yourself upon My holy mountain.

Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised the others:

The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men--swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

And the tax collector, standing far away, would not so much as lift his eyes towards heaven, but beat on his chest, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!'

so that no flesh may boast before God.

that, as it is written, "He that boasts, let him boast in the LORD."

For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if you did indeed receive [what you have], why do you boast as though you did not receive it?

For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God,

For we are His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

for [the children] not yet being born, nor having done anything good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might abide, not of works but of Him who calls,

Why? Because [they did] not [seek it] by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled the stone of stumbling.

For Moses writes about the righteousness which [is] of the law, "That the man who does those things shall live by them."

And if by grace, [it is] no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if [it is] of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by [the] faith of Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by [the] faith of Christ and not by [the] works of the law; because no flesh shall be justified by [the] works of the law.

Therefore I find this law, that [when] I wish to do the right [thing], that evil is present with me.

But I see a different law in my members, waging war with the law of my mind, and capturing me by the law of sin which is in my members.

I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself with the mind serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and of death.

He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that does not believe shall be condemned.

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; and he who does not believe the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

But the Scripture has confined all under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

And this is the testimony: that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.

He that has the Son has life; he that does not have the Son of God does not have life.
