2 Corinthians 8:1-9

Now we make known to you brothers, the grace of God which has been given to the churches of Macedonia,

how that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their generosity.

For I bear witness that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing,

with much appeal, begging us [for] the grace and the fellowship of the ministry to the saints--

and not as we hoped, but they first gave their own selves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God,

so that we urged Titus, that just as he had begun before, thus he would also finish this grace also in you.
7
But as you abound in everything--in faith, in word, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us--see that you abound in this grace also.
8
I speak not by a command, but I am testing the genuineness of your love by means of the diligence of others.
9
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet on account of you He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.
Galatians 6:6-10

Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for what a man sows, this also he will reap.

For he who sows to his flesh, from his own flesh will reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap everlasting life.

And while we do good, let us not lose heart, for in due season we shall reap if we do not become weary.

So then, as we have opportunity, let us work what is good toward all, but especially toward those who are of the household of faith.
the poor
Proverbs 14:21
He that dishonors the needy, sins, but he that has pity on the poor is most blessed.
Proverbs 14:31
He that oppresses the needy provokes his Maker, but he that honors Him has pity upon the poor.
Proverbs 17:5
He that laughs at the poor provokes Him that made him, and he that rejoices at the destruction of another shall not be held guiltless; but he that has compassion shall find mercy.
Zechariah 11:7
