You observe days and months and seasons and years.

And this day shall be to you a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to the Lord through all your generations; you shall keep it a feast for a perpetual ordinance.

It is a watch kept to the Lord, so that He should bring them out of the land of Egypt; that very night is a watch kept to the Lord, so that it should be to all the children of Israel to their generations.

And Moses said, Eat [that] today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord: [it] shall not be found in the plain.

I have not chosen this fast, nor [such] a day for a man to afflict his soul; although you should bend down your neck as a ring, and spread under you sackcloth and ashes, neither thus shall you call a fast acceptable.

Speak to the whole people of the land, and to the priests, saying, Though you fasted or lamented in the fifth or seventh [months] (yea, behold, these seventy years) have you at all fasted to Me?

And if you eat or drink, do you not eat and drink for yourselves?

And commanding the crowds to recline on the grass, taking the five loaves of bread and the two fish, looking up to heaven, He blessed, and breaking [them], He gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples [gave] to the crowds.

And He took the seven loaves and the fish, having given thanks, He broke [them], and gave [them] to His disciples; and the disciples [gave] to the crowd.

Then they said to Him, "What should we do, that we may work the works of God?"

But if I partake with thanks, why am I defamed for [that] of which I give thanks?

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.

forbidding to marry, [commanding] to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who are believers and have come to know the truth.

for it is sanctified through the word of God and prayer.
