I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But by their transgression, salvation [has come] to the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy.

For just as you once were disobedient to God, but now you were shown mercy through their disobedience,

"Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God shall be taken away from you, and it shall be given to a nation producing the fruits of it.

And the Jews, seeing the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and spoke against the things being said by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly said, "It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first; but since you thrust it away, and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life; behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

But the disbelieving Jews aroused and embittered the souls of the Gentiles against the brothers.

But because they were opposing and blaspheming, he shook off his clothes and said to them, "Your blood [be] on your [own] heads; I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."

who killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they do not please God and are against all men,

forbidding us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved, so as always to fill up [the measure of] their sins; but the wrath [of God] has come upon them to the uttermost.

What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained [it], and the rest were blinded.

But you, O Israel, are My servant Jacob, and he whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham, whom I have loved;

whom I have taken hold of from the ends of the earth, and from the high places of it I have called you, and said to you, You are My servant; I have chosen you, and I have not forsaken you.

And I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven; and I will give to your seed all this land, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in your seed.

And your seed shall be as the sand of the earth; and it shall spread abroad to the sea, and the south, and the north, and to the east; and in you and in your seed shall all the tribes of the earth be blessed.

And they shall confess their sins, and the sins of their fathers, that they have transgressed and neglected Me, and that they have walked perversely before Me,

And I will remember the covenant of Jacob, and the covenant of Isaac, and the covenant of Abraham will I remember.

Because the Lord your God [is] a merciful God; He will not forsake you, nor destroy you; He will not forget the covenant of your fathers, which the Lord swore to them.

It is not because you are more numerous than all [other] nations that the Lord has preferred you, and the Lord has chosen you: for you are fewer in number than all [other] nations.

But because the Lord has loved you, and He is keeping the oath which He swore to your fathers; the Lord has brought you out with a strong hand, and the Lord has redeemed you from the house of bondage, out of the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

But you shall remember the Lord your God, that He gives you strength to get wealth; even that He may establish His covenant, which the Lord swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Not for your righteousness, nor for the holiness of your heart, do you go in to inherit their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations, the Lord shall destroy them from before you, and that He may establish the covenant, which the Lord swore to our fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Only the Lord chose your fathers, to love them, and He chose out their seed after them, [even] you, beyond all nations, as it is this day.

He has remembered His covenant forever, the word which He commanded for a thousand generations;

And He established it to Jacob for an ordinance, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant;

The Lord appeared to him from afar, [saying], I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn you.

He shall give blessings truly to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, as You swore to our fathers, according to the former days.

He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy,

"Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, for He has visited and redeemed His people,

as He spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets, who have been since the world began,

to perform the mercy [promised] to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant,

to grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear,
