For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven upon all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

For they themselves report about us what kind of entrance we had to you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,

And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true; and we are in Him that is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

Know that their heart is ashes, and they err, and no one is able to deliver his soul; see, you will not say, [There is a] lie in my right hand.

Every man is deprived of knowledge, every goldsmith is confounded because of his graven images; for he has cast false gods, there is no breath in them.

They are vain works, wrought in mockery; in the time of their visitation they shall perish.

Thus is your lot, and the reward of your disobedience to Me, says the Lord. As you have forgotten Me, and trusted in lies,

O Lord, You are my strength and my help, and my refuge in days of evil. To You the Gentiles shall come from the ends of the earth, and shall say, How worthless [were the] idols [which] our fathers procured for themselves, and there is no help in them.

Thus says the Lord; For three sins of the children of Judah, and for four, I will not turn away from him, because they have rejected the law of the Lord, and have not kept His ordinances, and their vain [idols] which they made, which their fathers followed, caused them to err.

And He said to them, "Draw out now, and carry [some] to the head steward." And they carried [it].

What profit is the graven image, that they have graven it? One has made it a molten work, a false image; for the maker has trusted in his work, to make dumb idols.

and changed the glory of the incorruptible God for a likeness of an image of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and reptiles.

"No one is able to serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other, or else he will be devoted to the one, and he will despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

traitors, headstrong, having been puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

Because everything that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not from the Father but is from the world.

of whom are the fathers and from whom Christ [came], according to the flesh, He who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.

And blessed is His glorious name forever, even forever and ever; and all the earth shall be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen.

David's [Psalm of] praise. I will exalt You, my God, my king; and I will bless Your name forever and ever.

Every day will I bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.

to Him be glory in the church in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
