who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

and they changed their glory into the likeness of a calf that feeds on grass.

if the nations will change their gods, though they are not gods: but My people have changed their glory, [for that] from which they shall not be profited.

And take careful heed to your hearts, for you saw no similitude in the day in which the Lord spoke to you in Horeb in the mountain out of the midst of the fire;

the likeness of any beast of those that are on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird which flies under heaven,

You shall not make to yourself an image, nor likeness of anything, whatever things [are] in the heaven above, and whatever [are] in the earth below, and whatever [are] in the waters under the earth.

They have a mouth, but they cannot speak; they have eyes, but they cannot see;

they have hands, but they cannot handle; they have feet, but they cannot walk; they cannot speak through their throat.

The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the works of men's hands.

they have ears, but they cannot hear; for there is no breath in their mouth.

To whom have you compared the Lord? And with what likeness have you compared Him?

Lift up your eyes on high, and see, who has displayed all these things? [Even] He that brings forth His host by number; He shall call them all by name by [means of His] great glory, and by the power of His might; nothing has escaped you.

The artificer, having chosen a piece of wood, marks it out with a rule, and fits it with glue, and makes it as the form of a man, and as the beauty of a man, to set it up in the house.

So I went in and looked, and I beheld vain abominations, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon them round about.

"Therefore, being the offspring of God, we ought not to suppose that the Godhead is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and the imagination of man.

You know that when you were Gentiles, how you were led, being carried away to these speechless idols.

For we have spent enough of our past lifetime to accomplish the will of the Gentiles--having walked in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent from the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and of wood, which neither are able to see nor to hear nor to walk.
