These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

And I will bring you into a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up with you, because you are a stiff-necked people, lest I consume you by the way.

For the Lord said to the children of Israel, You are a stiff-necked people; take heed lest I bring on you another plague and destroy you: now then put off your glorious apparel, and [your] ornaments, and I will show you what I will do to you.

and said, If I have found grace in Your sight, let my Lord go with us; for the people are stiff-necked: and You shall take away our sins and our iniquities, and we will be Yours.

And you shall know this day, that [it is] not for your righteousnesses that the Lord your God gives to you this good land to inherit, for you are a stiff-necked people.

And the Lord spoke to me, saying, I have spoken to you once and again, saying, I have seen this people, and behold, they are a stiff-necked people.

For I know your provocation, and your stiff neck; for yet during my life with you at this day, you have been provoking in your conduct toward God: how shall you not also be so after my death?

And now harden not your hearts, as your fathers [did]; give glory to the Lord God, and enter into His sanctuary, which He has sanctified forever, and serve the Lord your God, and He shall turn away [His] fierce anger from you.

But they and our fathers behaved proudly, and hardened their neck, and did not hearken to Your commandments,

Lift not up your horn on high; speak not unrighteousness against God.

That they should not be as their fathers, a perverse and provoking generation; a generation which set not its heart aright, and its spirit was not steadfast with God.

I know that you are stubborn, and your neck is an iron sinew, and your forehead bronze.

But they hearkened not, and inclined not their ear, but stiffened their neck more than their fathers [did], so as not to hear Me, and not to receive correction.

And you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord.

But they refused to attend, and madly turned their back, and made their ears heavy, so that they should not hear.

And they made their heart disobedient, so as not to hearken to My law, and the words which the Lord Almighty sent forth by His Spirit by the former prophets: so there was great wrath from the Lord Almighty.

and I walked with them with a perverse mind; and I will destroy them in the land of their enemies: then shall their uncircumcised heart be ashamed, and then shall they acquiesce in [the punishment of] their sins.

Therefore you shall circumcise the hardness of your heart, and you shall not stiffen your neck.

And the Lord shall purge your heart, and the heart of your seed, to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, that you may live.

Circumcise yourselves to your God, and circumcise your hardness of heart, you men of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, lest My wrath go forth as fire, and burn, and there be none to quench it, because of the evil of your devices.

To whom shall I speak and testify, that he may hear? Behold, your ears are uncircumcised, and they shall not be able to hear. Behold, the word of the Lord has become a reproach to them, they will not at all desire it.

Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will visit upon all the circumcised their uncircumcision:

on Egypt, Edom, Edom, on the children of Ammon, on the children of Moab, and everyone that shaves his face round about, [even] them that dwell in the wilderness; for all the Gentiles are uncircumcised in flesh, and all the house of Israel are uncircumcised [in] their hearts.

That you have brought in aliens, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My sanctuary, and to profane it, when you offered bread, flesh, and blood; and you transgressed My covenant by all your iniquities;

Therefore thus says the Lord God: No alien, uncircumcised in heart or uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter into My sanctuary, of all the children of strangers that are in the midst of the house of Israel.

For indeed circumcision profits if you keep the law; but if you are a transgressor of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.

For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in flesh;

but he [is] a Jew that [is one] inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, in spirit, not in letter, whose praise is not of men but of God.

For we are the [true] circumcision, worshipping by the Spirit of God, rejoicing in Christ Jesus, and having no confidence in the flesh,

In whom you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by the putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

And they were not able to withstand the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.

Yet You had patience with them for many years, and testified to them by Your Spirit by the hand of Your prophets: but they hearkened not; so You gave them into the hand of the nations of the land.

But they disobeyed, and provoked His Holy Spirit; so He turned to be an enemy, He Himself contended against them.

And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

"And the patriarchs, being jealous of Joseph, sold him into Egypt; and God was with him,

"But the one wronging his neighbor pushed him away, saying, 'Who appointed you a ruler and a judge over us?

This Moses whom they denied, saying, 'Who appointed you a ruler and a judge?' This man God sent as a ruler and redeemer by the hand of the Angel who appeared to him in the bush.

whom our fathers did not desire to be obedient, but they rejected [him] and returned in their heart back to Egypt,

"So that you testify against yourselves that you are sons of those who killed the prophets.

Serpents! Brood of vipers! How shall you escape from the condemnation of hell?
