Hear the words of the Lord, you that tremble at His word; speak, our brethren, to them that hate you and abominate you, that the name of the Lord may be glorified, and may appear their joy; but they shall be ashamed.

A voice of a cry from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the Lord rendering recompense to [His] adversaries.
Jeremiah 7:4-14

Trust not in yourselves with lying words, for they shall not profit you at all, saying, It is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.

For if you thoroughly correct your ways and your practices, and do indeed execute judgment between a man and his neighbor;

so that it is evil with you; yet have you come, and stood before Me in the house which is called by My name, and you have said, We have refrained from doing all these abominations.

Is My house, which is called by My name, a den of robbers in your eyes? And behold, I have seen [it], says the Lord.
12
For go to My place which is in Shiloh, where I caused My name to dwell before, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of My people Israel.
13
And now, because you have done all these deeds, and I spoke to you, but you hearkened not to Me; and I called you, but you answered not.
14
Therefore I also will do to the house which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.
Jeremiah 26:6-9

then will I make this house as Shiloh, and I will make [this] city a curse to all the nations of all the earth.

And the priests, and the false prophets, and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord.

And by no means will they teach each [one] his fellow citizen, and each [one] his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I shall by no means remember anymore."

By the saying "new," He has made the first obsolete. And the [one] becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish.
Hebrews 9:9-11

which [was] symbolic for the present time, according to which both gifts and sacrifices are being offered, which are not able, in respect to conscience, to make perfect the [one] performing the service,

[concerned] only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances which are imposed until a time of reformation.

But Christ came [as] a High Priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.
Hebrews 10:1-18

For the law having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the image itself of the things, can never with the same sacrifices, which they offer continually every year, make those approaching perfect.

Otherwise they would not have ceased to be offered, because the worshippers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.

But in them there is a reminder of sins every year.

For it is not possible for [the] blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Therefore, when He entered into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me.

In burnt offerings and [sacrifices] for sin You had no pleasure.

Then I said, 'Behold, I have come--In the volume of the book it is written of Me-- To do Your will, O God.'"

Earlier saying, "Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and [sacrifices] for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them" (which are offered according to the law),
9
then He has said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first in order that He may establish the second.
10
By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11
And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which are never able to take away sins.
12
But He Himself, having offered one sacrifice for sins forever, He sat down at the right hand of God,
13
from that time waiting till His enemies are placed as a footstool for His feet.
14
For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.
15
But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
16
"This is the covenant which I shall covenant with them after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws on their hearts, and I will inscribe them on their minds,
17
and their sins and their lawless deeds I shall by no means remember any longer."
18
Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.
Hebrews 12:26-28

whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven."
27
Now the [phrase], "Yet once more," signifies the removal of the things being shaken, as having been made, so that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28
Therefore, since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us have grace, through which we serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
