Then the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy,

And the Jews, seeing the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and spoke against the things being said by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

Now there arose during that time a serious disturbance concerning the Way.

And Sanballat the Horonite heard [it], and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and it was grievous to them that a man had come to seek good for the children of Israel.

Therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, "What are we doing? For this Man works many signs.

If we leave Him alone in this way, all will believe in Him, and the Romans will come and will take away both our place and our nation."

This [Jesus] God raised on the third day, and granted Him to become visible,

And He commanded us to proclaim to the people, and to testify solemnly that He is the [One] having been appointed by God [to be] Judge of the living and the dead.

And also some of the Epicurean and of the Stoic philosophers were conversing with him. And some were saying, "What does this seed-picker wish to say?" But others [said], "He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign deities," because he was preaching the good news of Jesus and the resurrection.

because He has appointed a day in which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He appointed, having given proof to all, by raising Him from the dead."

But when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some were scoffing, but others said, "We will hear you again concerning this."

But I confess this to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing in all things which are written throughout the Law and in the Prophets,

having hope in God, which even they themselves are waiting for, that there is going to be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.

unless it is because of this one statement which I cried out, standing among them, 'Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged by you today.'"

Why is it considered [such] an unbelievable thing by you [people] if God raises the dead?

that the Christ was to suffer, that as the first to rise from the dead, He was about to proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles."

But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit indwelling in you.

Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain and your faith also is vain!

For if the dead are not raised, [then] neither has Christ been raised.

Then also those who have died in Christ have perished.

But now Christ has been raised from the dead, [and] has become the firstfruits of those who have died.

But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then those who belong to Christ at His coming.

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, "I believed, and therefore I spoke," we also believe, therefore we also speak,

knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us through Jesus, and will present us together with you.

Now we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, concerning those who have died, lest you be sorrowful as those who have no hope.

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose [again], thus also God will bring with Him those who die in Jesus.
