First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers,

requesting if somehow now at sometime I shall succeed in the will of God to come to you.

For I long to see you, so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, that you may be established--

that is, that I may be encouraged together among you through the mutual faith both of you and me.

Now I do not want you to be ignorant, brothers, that often I planned to come to you (and I was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles.

I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to wise and to unwise.

So, as much as is in me, I am eager to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.
Romans 15:22-29

For this reason I also have been hindered many times from coming to you.

But now no longer having a place in these regions, and having a longing to come to you for many years,

whenever I travel to Spain, I shall come to you. For I hope [while] traveling through to see you, and to be sent forward there by you, if I may be filled in part [from] you first.

For Macedonia and Achaia thought it good to make some contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.

For they thought it good, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles shared in spiritual things, they are obligated also to minister to them in material things.

Therefore, having finished and having sealed to them this fruit, I shall go by way of you to Spain.

But I know that coming to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
