And the next day we put in to harbor at Sidon. And Julius treated Paul kindly, and permitted [him] to go to [his] friends to find care.

But the centurion was persuaded by the helmsman and the ship owner, rather than by the things being said by Paul.

Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, "If these men do not remain in the ship, you cannot be saved."

And when much dissension developed, the commander, fearing lest Paul might be torn apart by them, commanded the detachment of soldiers to go down and seize him from the midst of them, and to bring [him] into the barracks.

and place mounts at [their] disposal, in order that they may put Paul on them, and bring him safely to Felix the governor."

[ 16:5A] The beginning of a good way is to do justly, and it is more acceptable with God than to offer sacrifices.

Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have spent in the depth [of the sea].
