Men, brothers; it was necessary [for] this Scripture to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus;

The Spirit of the Lord spoke by me, and His word [was] on my tongue.

And having crucified Him, they divided His clothes among themselves, casting lots.

For David himself said by the Holy Spirit: 'The LORD said to my Lord, "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet."'

Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me."

Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear His voice,

again He appoints a certain day, saying in David, "Today," after such a time, just as it has been said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts."

for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being brought along by [the] Holy Spirit.

from the days when I appointed judges over My people Israel: and I will give you rest from all your enemies, and the Lord declares to you, that He shall build you a house.

He shall build for Me a house for My name, and I will set up his throne, even forever.

But My mercy I will not take from him, as I took it from those whom I removed from My presence.

And it shall come to pass when your days shall be fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, that I will raise up your seed after you, which shall be of your loins, and I will establish his kingdom.

I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to Me a son; and My mercy will I not withdraw from him, as I withdrew [it] from them that were before you.

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so spoke Nathan to David.

I made a covenant with My chosen ones, I swore unto David My servant.

I will establish your seed forever, and build up your throne to all generations. Pause.

Then You spoke in a vision to Your children, and said, I have laid help on a mighty one; I have exalted one chosen out of My people.

For My hand shall support him; and My arm shall strengthen him.

And I will hew down his foes before him, and put to flight those that hate him.

And I will set his hand in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.

And I will make him [My] firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.

And I will establish his seed forever and ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

if they should profane My ordinances, and not keep My commandments;

But My mercy I will not utterly remove from him, nor wrong My truth.

Once have I sworn by My holiness, that I will not lie to David.

and as the moon [that is] established forever, and as the faithful witness in heaven. Pause.

A Psalm of David. The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, until I make Your enemies Your footstool.

With You is dominion in the day of Your power, in the splendors of Your saints; I have begotten You from the womb before the morning.

The Lord at Your right hand has dashed in pieces kings in the day of His wrath.

The Lord has sworn [in] truth to David, and He will not annul it, [saying], Of the fruit of your body will I set [a king] upon your throne.

For the Lord has elected Zion, He has chosen her for a habitation for Himself, [saying],

I will surely bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

There will I cause to spring up a horn to David: I have prepared a lamp for My Anointed.

concerning His Son, who came of [the] seed of David according to the flesh,

Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel,

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,

to whom also Abraham divided a tenth from all, first being interpreted "king of righteousness," and then also king of Salem, which is "king of peace,"

for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him that said to Him: "The LORD has sworn and will not relent, 'You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek'",

Thus God, wanting to show even more clearly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His counsel, guaranteed it by an oath,

But I have been made King by Him on Zion His holy mountain,

Ask of Me, and I shall give You the nations [for] Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth [for] Your possession.

Now therefore understand, you kings: be instructed, all you that judge the earth.

Accept correction, lest at any time the Lord be angry, and you should perish from the righteous way. Whenever His wrath shall be suddenly kindled, blessed are all they that trust in Him.

For Solomon. O God, give Your judgment to the king, and Your righteousness to the king's son;

Let the mountains and the hills raise peace to Your people.

And He shall continue as long as the sun, and before the moon forever.

In His days shall righteousness spring up; and abundance of peace till the moon be removed.

The Ethiopians shall fall down before Him, and His enemies shall lick the dust.

And all kings shall worship Him; all the Gentiles shall serve Him.

He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall deliver the souls of the needy.

And He shall live, and the gold of Arabia shall be given to Him, and [men] shall pray for Him continually; [and] all the day shall they praise Him.

Let His name be blessed forever; His name shall endure longer than the sun, and all the tribes of the earth shall be blessed in Him: all nations shall call Him blessed.

And blessed is His glorious name forever, even forever and ever; and all the earth shall be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen.

Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive in the womb, and shall bring forth a son, and you shall call His name Emmanuel.

For a Child is born to us, and a Son is given to us, whose government is upon His shoulder; and His name is called the Messenger of great counsel; for I will bring peace upon the princes, and health to Him.

His government shall be great, and of His peace there is no end; [it shall be] upon the throne of David, and [upon] His kingdom, to establish it, and to support [it] with judgment and with righteousness, from this time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts shall perform this.

Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up to David a righteous branch, and a king shall reign and understand, and shall execute judgment and righteousness on the earth.

In his days both Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell securely. And this is his name, which the Lord shall call Him, Josedek among the prophets.

In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and will rebuild the ruins of it, and will set up the parts thereof that have been broken down, and will build it up as in the ancient days:

that the remnant of men, and all the Gentiles upon whom My name is called, may earnestly seek Me, says the Lord who does all these things.

And you, Bethlehem, house of Ephratha, are few in number to be reckoned among the thousands of Judah; yet out of you shall one come forth to Me, to be a ruler of Israel; and His goings forth were from the beginning, even from eternity.

And behold, you shall conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS.

And He shall reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there shall be no end."

Then the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I might not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here."

Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say [rightly] that I am a king. For this [reason] I have been born, and for this [reason] I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."

And again, Isaiah says: "There shall be the root of Jesse; and He that shall rise to rule over the Gentiles, in Him the Gentiles shall hope."

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, and elect, and faithful."

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name having been written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
