that at that time you were apart from Christ, being estranged from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, not having hope and atheists in the world.

And you observe and hear that not only at Ephesus, but almost in all of Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great multitude, saying that they are not gods which are made by human hands.

and in all deception of unrighteousness among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

And because of this, God will send them strong delusion, in order for them to believe the lie,

speaking lies in hypocrisy, having been seared with a hot iron [as to] their own conscience,

And Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, since he was the leader in speaking.

And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was before their city, bearing bulls and garlands to the gates, together with the crowds, was desiring to sacrifice [to them].
