Is it not the Lord that teaches understanding and knowledge?

And if you have also transgressed much, what can you perform?

And suppose you are righteous, what will you give Him? Or what shall He receive from your hand?

I said to the Lord, You are my Lord; my goodness is nothing apart from You.

I will not reprove you on account of your sacrifices; for your whole burnt offerings are before Me continually.

For all the wild beasts of the thicket are Mine, the cattle on the mountains, and oxen.

If I should be hungry, I will not tell you; for the world is Mine, and all its fullness.

Therefore thus says the Lord; Behold, My anger and wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and upon the men, and upon the cattle, and upon every tree of their field, and upon the fruits of the land; and it shall burn, and not be quenched.

For I spoke not to your fathers, and commanded them not in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, concerning whole burnt offerings and sacrifice;

I hate, I reject your feasts, and I will not smell your grain offerings in your general assemblies.

Remove from Me the sound of your songs, and I will not hear the music of your instruments.

But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call [the] righteous, but sinners, to repentance."

for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.'

And yet He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, giving to you rains from heaven and fruitbearing seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness."

And God formed the man of the dust of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.

And they fell on their faces, and said, O God, the God of spirits and of all flesh, if one man has sinned, [shall] the wrath of the Lord [be] upon the whole congregation?

Let the Lord God of spirits and of all flesh look out for a man over this congregation,

Seeing that the life of all living things is in His hand, and the breath of every man.

verily, while my breath is yet in me, and the breath of God which remains to me is in my nostrils,

The Divine Spirit is that which formed me, and the breath of the Almighty [is] that which teaches me.

For if He would confine, and restrain His Spirit with Himself;

All wait upon You, to give them [their] food in due season.

But when You have turned away Your face, they shall be troubled; You will take away their breath, and they shall fail, and return to their dust.

Thus says the Lord God, who made the heaven, and established it; who settled the earth, and the things in it, and gives breath to the people in it, and spirit to them that tread on it;

I will not take vengeance on you forever, neither will I be always angry with you; for My Spirit shall go forth from Me, and I have created all breath.

The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel. Thus says the Lord, that stretches out the sky, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.

so that you may prove to be sons of your Father in heaven; because He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and He sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

"Or who has first given to Him, and it shall be repaid to him?"

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to put their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who provides all things richly for us to enjoy,
