For it seemed best to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to put on you no greater burden except for these necessary things:

Yes, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight.

it seemed good also to me, having investigated from the first all things carefully, to write to you in orderly fashion, most distinguished Theophilus,

And the apostles and elders gathered together to see about this matter.

These were continuing with one mind in prayer and petition, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

And when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were sharing food with joy and simplicity of heart,

Now I beseech you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but you be made complete in the same mind and in the same opinion.

Then it seemed best to the apostles and the elders, together with the whole church, to send men being chosen from them to Antioch, together with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas who was also named Barsabas, and Silas, leading men among the brothers.

We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also tell you the same things by word [of mouth].

Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, who have labored in the Lord. Greet the beloved Persis, who labored much in the Lord.

But that you also may know my circumstances, and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will make all things known to you;

Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister, and fellow servant in the Lord, will tell you all things about me.

with Onesimus, the faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will make known to you all the things [happening] here.

no longer as a slave but more than a slave--a beloved brother, especially to me but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.

and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation--just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, wrote to you,

Therefore when there arose a serious dissension and debate with Paul and Barnabus, they determined that Paul and Barnabas and some others of them should go up to the apostles and elders in Jerusalem concerning this issue.

But Paul and Barnabas spent time in Antioch, teaching and preaching the good news of the word of the Lord, with many others also.

and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace which was given to me, they gave me and Barnabas [their] right [hands] of fellowship, that we [should go] to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised;
