Thus says the Lord Almighty, Hearken not to the words of the prophets, for they frame a vain vision for themselves; they speak from their own heart, and not from the mouth of the Lord.

and that was because of false brothers secretly brought in (who slipped in to spy out our freedom which we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might reduce us to slavery),

You have become estranged from Christ, you who are justified by law; you have fallen from grace.

Oh that those who disturb you would even castrate themselves!

Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to dispute about words, useful for nothing, for the ruin of the hearers.

For there are also many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision,

whom it is necessary to shut [their] mouths, who overturn whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain.

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but [they went out] in order that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us.

And certain men coming down from Judea were teaching the brothers, "If you are not circumcised in the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved."

and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

But not even Titus who was with me, although he was a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised;

As many as wish to make a good showing in the flesh, these compel you to get circumcised, only so that they should not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

For not even those who are circumcised keep the law themselves, but they wish you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.
