But if [something] is revealed to another who sits by, let the first be silent.

And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

So then, my beloved brothers, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;

And motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he related to them how the Lord had led him out of the prison. And he said, "Tell these things to James and to the brothers." And going out, he went to another place.

On the next day Paul was going in with us to James, and all the elders were present.

There were also women looking on from a distance, among whom were both Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Less and of Joses, and Salome,

But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the brother of the Lord.

and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace which was given to me, they gave me and Barnabas [their] right [hands] of fellowship, that we [should go] to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised;

For before certain [men] came from James, he would eat together with the Gentiles; but when they came, he began to draw back and began to separate himself, fearing those of the circumcision party.

James, a bondservant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings.

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke out to them, "Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words.

"Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves also know--

"Men, brothers, let [me] speak with boldness to you about the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

And he said, "Men, brothers and fathers, listen: The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,

"Men, brothers and fathers, hear my defense to you now."
