And the Lord said, Behold, [there is] one race, and one language of all, and they have begun to do this, and now nothing shall fail from them of all that they have undertaken to do.

And they said to him, Stand back! You came here to sojourn, was it also to judge? Now then we would harm you more than them. And they pressed hard on the man, even Lot, and they drew near to break down the door.

And Moses said to Aaron, What have this people done to you, that you have brought such a great sin upon them?

For they said to me, Make us gods which shall go before us; as for this man Moses, who brought us out of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.

[As for] the word which you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we will not listen to you.

For we will surely perform every word that shall proceed out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour drink offerings to her, as we and our fathers have done, and our kings and princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem. And [so] we were filled with bread, and were well, and saw no evils.

Therefore Jesus, knowing that they were about to come and seize Him, that they might make Him king, withdrew to the mountain by Himself.
