And destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, He gave their land to them as an inheritance.

And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats, one lot for the Lord, and the other for the scapegoat.

And Joshua cast the lot for them in Shiloh before the Lord.

And Saul said, O Lord God of Israel, why have You not answered Your servant this day? Is the iniquity in me, or in Jonathan my son? Lord God of Israel, give clear [manifestations], and if [the lot] should declare this, give holiness, I pray, to Your people of Israel. And Jonathan and Saul were taken, and the people escaped.

And Saul said, Cast [lots] between me and my son Jonathan: whomever the Lord shall cause to be taken by lot, let him die. And the people said to Saul, This thing is not [to be done]. And Saul prevailed against the people, and they cast lots between him and Jonathan his son, and Jonathan was taken by lot.

And he divided them according to their lots, one with the other; for there were those who had charge of the holy things, and those who had charge of the [house] of the Lord among the sons of Eleazar, and among the sons of Ithamar.

Understanding is a fountain of life to its possessors, but the instruction of fools is evil.

And each man said to his neighbor, Come, let us cast lots, and find out for whose sake this mischief is upon us. So they cast lots, and the lot fell upon Jonah.
