For four strong [men] have the charge of the gates; and the Levites were over the chambers, and they keep watch over the treasures of the house of God.

But the chief priests, taking the silver [coins] said, "It is not lawful to put them into the temple treasury, since they are the price of blood."

And Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, and was observing how the crowd was putting money into the treasury. And many rich [people] were putting in much.

And having summoned His disciples, He said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who are putting into the treasury.

Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, having gone through their midst, and so passed by.

You go up to this feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because My time has not yet been fulfilled."

Therefore they were seeking to arrest Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.

Now some of them wished to arrest Him, but no one laid a hand on Him.

Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, but He escaped from their hand.

Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him."

On that very day some Pharisees came, saying to Him, "Get out and go from here, for Herod wants to kill You."

Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it is not possible [for] a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem.

And the chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on Him that very hour, but they were afraid--for they knew that He had spoken this parable against them.
