Has not Moses given you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? Why are you seeking to kill Me?"

Now Moses, in our law, commanded to cast stones at such. Therefore what do You say?"

And those who heard [it] began to go out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman being in the midst.

For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law

Behold, you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and boast in God,

and are persuaded that you are a guide to the blind, a light to those in darkness,

You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal?

You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God through the transgression of the law?

For indeed circumcision profits if you keep the law; but if you are a transgressor of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.

And will not the physically uncircumcised, who fulfills the law, judge you along with your written [code] and circumcision, a transgressor of the law?

but he [is] a Jew that [is one] inwardly; and circumcision is of the heart, in spirit, not in letter, whose praise is not of men but of God.

Now we know that as many things as the law says, it speaks to those under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law [comes] [the] knowledge of sin.

For I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived, but I died.

For sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, deceived me, and by it, killed me.

Then has that which is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through that which is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.

Now if the ministry of death, having been engraved in letters on stones, came to be with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently into the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, the [glory which] [was] passing away,

For if the ministry of condemnation [had] glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

For if that which passes away [was] glorious, then that which remains is much more glorious.

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things which are written in the book of the law, to do them."

Now Moses, in our law, commanded to cast stones at such. Therefore what do You say?"

But this they said, testing Him, that they might have an accusation against Him. But Jesus, stooping down, began to write on the ground with His finger, not taking notice.

[Then] they reviled him and said, "You are His disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

We know that God has spoken to Moses; but [as for] this [Man], we do not know where He is from."

They said to Him, "Why then did Moses command to give a certificate of divorce, and to put her away?"

He said to them, "Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been thus.

For Moses writes about the righteousness which [is] of the law, "That the man who does those things shall live by them."

or, " 'Who shall descend into the abyss?' " (that is, to bring up Christ from the dead).

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and you believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.
