Therefore Jesus, seeing His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!"

This is the disciple who testifies of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.

And we are witnesses of all things which He did, both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they also killed by hanging on a tree.

how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which in the beginning was spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard [Him],

God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

The elders who are among you I exhort, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed;

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have gazed upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life--

that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, in order that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

And I rejoice for your sakes that I was not there, so that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him."

And I knew that You always hear Me, but because of the people standing around I said [this], so that they may believe that You sent Me."

And now I have told you before it happens, so that whenever it may happen, you may believe.

"I am not praying for these alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word;

so that they all may be one, just as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me.

but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that [by] believing you may have life in His name.

For as many things as were previously written, were written for our own instruction, that through the patience and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we may have hope.

These things I write to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe in the name of the Son of God.
