[ 16:11] He has attacked me with the keen glances of His eyes; with His sharp [spear] He has struck me [down] upon my knees, and they have run upon me with one accord.

And they stood aloof and abhorred me, and spared not to spit in my face.

They have risen up against me on the right hand of their offspring; they have stretched out their foot, and directed against me the ways of their destruction.

and the instruction of the Lord, even the Lord, opens my ears, and I do not disobey, nor dispute.

but the Lord God became my helper; therefore I was not ashamed, but I set my face as a solid rock; and I know that I shall never be ashamed,

And he struck him, and cast him into the dungeon which was by the gate of the upper house that was set apart, which was by the house of the Lord.

Now shall the daughter [of Zion] be completely hedged in: he has laid siege against us: they shall smite the tribes of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

Then they spat in His face, and beat Him with [their] fists; and they slapped [Him],

saying, "Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is he that struck You?"

Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with [their] fists, and to say to Him, "Prophesy!" And the attendants were striking Him with slaps [to the face].

Now the men who were holding Jesus were mocking Him and beating [Him].

And having blindfolded Him, they were striking His face and asking Him, saying, "Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You?"

But the high priest Ananias commanded those standing by him to strike his mouth.

Then Paul said to him, "God is about to strike you, you whitewashed wall! For you sit judging me according to the law, and contrary to the law do you command that I should be struck?"

But those standing by said, "Do you revile the high priest of God?"

Then Paul said, "I did not know, brothers, that he is the high priest; for it is written, 'You shall not speak wickedly of a ruler of your people.'"
