But these things I have spoken to you, so that when the time comes, you may remember them, that I told you. But these things I did not say to you from the beginning, because I was with you.

These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may abide in you, and that your joy may be full.

And blessed is the [one] who is not offended because of Me."

yet he has no root in himself, but is short-lived. For when tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, immediately he stumbles.

So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, and in his [own] house."

And then many will fall away, and they will betray one another, and they will hate one another.

Then Jesus said to them, "All of you will be made to stumble because of Me on this night, for it is written: 'I will strike the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'

Peter answered and said to Him, "Even if all are made to stumble because of You, yet I will never be made to stumble."

It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor [to do anything] by which your brother stumbles or is offended or becomes weak.

that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ,

and "a stone of stumbling and a rock of offense." They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.
