I do not speak concerning all of you. I know [those] whom I chose; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, 'He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.'

When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in His spirit, and testified and said, "Most assuredly I say to you, one of you will betray Me."

Jesus answered, "It is the [one] to whom I shall give a piece of bread when I have dipped it." And having dipped the bread, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

and had no need that anyone should testify concerning man, for He himself knew what was in man.

But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who were the ones who did not believe, and who was the one who would betray Him.

From this [time] many of His disciples turned back and no longer would walk with Him.

But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

He answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?"

When I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. [Those] whom You have given Me I guarded; and not one of them is lost except the son of perdition, so that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

Indeed, the Son of Man goes just as it is written about Him, but woe to that man through whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born."

Then Judas, the [one] betraying Him, answered and said, "[Surely] not I am [the one], Rabbi?" He said to him, "You have said [it]."
