And when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, "Certainly this was a righteous Man!"

So when the centurion and those with him guarding Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were greatly afraid, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

Now there was a certain man in Caesarea named Cornelius, a centurion of what was called the Italian [Regiment],

And the centurion, hearing this, going to the commander he reported, saying, "Watch what you are about to do, for this man is a Roman."

And Paul, summoning one of the centurions and said, "Lead this young man away to the commander, for he has something to tell him."

Now when it was decided that we should sail away to Italy, they handed over both Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan Regiment.

And the next day we put in to harbor at Sidon. And Julius treated Paul kindly, and permitted [him] to go to [his] friends to find care.

But the centurion, wanting to rescue Paul, hindered them in their intention, and commanded that those who were able to swim to jump down first to go toward the land,

And Abraham said to his servant the elder of his house, who had rule over all his possessions, Put your hand under my thigh,

But you shall go instead to my country, where I was born, and to my tribe, and you shall take from there a wife for my son Isaac.

And Abraham said to him, See that you do not carry my son back there.

And if the woman should not be willing to come with you into this land, you shall be clear from my oath, only do not carry my son there again.

And the servant took ten camels of his master's camels, and [he took] of all the goods of his master with him, and he arose and went into Mesopotamia to the city of Nahor.

And he said, O Lord God of my master Abraham, prosper my way before me today, and deal mercifully with my master Abraham.

And it shall be, the virgin to whomsoever I shall say, Let down your water pot, that I may drink, and she shall say, Drink, and I will give your camels a drink, until they have finished drinking- even this one You have prepared for Your servant Isaac, and hereby shall I know that You have dealt mercifully with my master Abraham.

and the Lord has blessed my master greatly, and he has become great; and He has given him sheep, calves, silver, gold, male and female servants, camels, and donkeys.

And my master caused me to swear, saying, You shall not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I sojourn in their land.

And I said to my master, Perhaps the woman will not happily go with me.

Then shall you be clear from my oath, for whenever you have come to my tribe, and they shall not give her to you, then shall you be clear from my oath.

behold, I stand by the well of water, and the daughters of the men of the city come forth to draw water, and it shall be that the woman to whom I shall say, Give me a little water to drink out of your pitcher,

And it came to pass before I had done speaking in my mind, that Rebecca came forth, having her pitcher on her shoulders; and she went down to the well, and drew water; and I said to her, Give me a drink.

And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter are you? Tell me; and she said, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Nahor, whom Milcah bore to him; and I put on her the earrings, and the bracelets on her hands.

If then you [will] deal mercifully and justly with my lord, [tell me], and if not, tell me, that I may turn to the right hand or to the left.

And Deborah, Rebecca's nurse, died, and was buried below Bethel under the oak; and Jacob called its name, The Oak of Mourning.

And Joseph found grace in the presence of his master, and was well-pleasing to him; and he set him over his house; and all that he had, he gave into the hand of Joseph.

And he committed all that he had into the hands of Joseph; and he knew not of anything that belonged to him, except the bread which he himself ate. And Joseph was handsome in form, and exceedingly beautiful in countenance.

And the Syrians went forth in small bands, and took captive out of the land of Israel a young girl; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

And she said to her mistress, O that my lord were before the prophet of God in Samaria; then he would heal him from his leprosy.

But if I had gone with scorners, and if my foot too has hastened to deceit:

He that lives wantonly from a child shall be a servant, and in the end shall grieve over himself.

Now when the angel who had been speaking to Cornelius had departed, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier from among those who waited on him continually.

Bondservants, obey your masters according to the flesh in all things, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God.

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.

Masters, provide to your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in [the] heavens.

for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as He was going, the crowds were pressing against Him.

Then Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick in Capernaum.

When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and asked Him that He might come down and heal his son, for he was about to die.

Now it was that Mary who had anointed the Lord with myrrh, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.

Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, "Lord, behold, [he] whom You love is sick."
