In that hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit and said, "I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to babes. Yes, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight."

For My counsels are not as your counsels, nor are My ways as your ways, says the Lord.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own [things]? Or is your eye evil because I am good?'

Now the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by race, and she was asking Him to cast the demon out from her daughter.

And she answered and said to Him, "Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs underneath the table eat from the crumbs of the children."

For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion."

But indeed, O man, who are you to [be] answering back against God? Surely the thing formed will not say to him who formed it, "Why did you made me like this?"

having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

And Elijah the prophet, the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, As the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be these years dew nor rain, except by the word of my mouth.

And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, and appear before Ahab, and I will bring rain upon the face of the earth.

And Elijah went to appear before Ahab. And the famine was severe in Samaria.

Elijah was a man of similar nature to us, and with a prayer, he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and it did not rain upon the land for three years and six months.
