And after a little [while], those standing by came up and said to Peter, "Surely you also are one of them, for your accent gives you away."

Then he began to curse and swear, saying, "I do not know the Man!" And immediately a rooster crowed.

And the servant girl seeing him again, began to say to those standing by, "This [man] is one of them."

But again he was denying [it]. And a little later those who were standing by said to Peter again, "Truly you are one of them; for you are also a Galilean, and your accent is like [theirs]."

One of the servants of the high priest, a relative of him whose ear Peter cut off, said, "Did I not see you in the garden with Him?"

Peter then denied again; and immediately a rooster crowed.
