Then the whole multitude of them arose and led Him to Pilate.

Then Herod, with his men of war, having treated Him with contempt, and having mocked Him, arrayed Him in a gorgeous robe, and sent Him back to Pilate.

And having bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

Immediately, in the morning, the chief priests held a consultation, along with the elders and scribes and the whole Sanhedrin; and having bound Jesus, they led [Him] away, and delivered [Him] to Pilate.

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium, and it was early morning. But they themselves did not enter into the Praetorium, lest they might be defiled, but so that they might eat the Passover.

They answered and said to him, "If He were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him over to you."

Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?"

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.

Now the men who were holding Jesus were mocking Him and beating [Him].

And many other things they blasphemously spoke against Him.

And the people stood, observing. And the rulers with them also were sneering, saying, "He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the elect of God."

I gave my back to scourges, and my cheeks to blows; and I turned not away my face from the shame of spitting;

As many shall be amazed at You, so shall Your face be without glory from men, and Your glory [shall not be honored] by the sons of men.

But His form was ignoble, and inferior to that of the children of men; [He was] a man in suffering, and acquainted with the bearing of sickness, for His face has turned from [us]; He was dishonored, and not esteemed.

Now shall the daughter [of Zion] be completely hedged in: he has laid siege against us: they shall smite the tribes of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.

Then they spat in His face, and beat Him with [their] fists; and they slapped [Him],

And having stripped Him, they put a scarlet robe on Him.

And spitting on Him, they took the reed and were striking [Him] on His head.

Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him with [their] fists, and to say to Him, "Prophesy!" And the attendants were striking Him with slaps [to the face].

And they clothed Him with purple; and they twisted a crown of thorns, and they put it around His head,

And they were striking His head with a reed and were spitting on Him; and bowing the knee, they [mockingly] worshipped Him.

And when He had said these things, one of the attendants who stood by slapped Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, "Is this how You answer the high priest?"

So then Pilate took Jesus and flogged [Him].

And they kept saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" And they were striking Him with their hands.

Then Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. And Pilate said to them, "Behold, the Man!"
