For He has given the law for a help, that they should not speak according to this word, concerning which there are no gifts to give for it.

Now we know that as many things as the law says, it speaks to those under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

For if those who are of [the] law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise has been nullified,

Therefore it is of faith that it may be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those of the law, but also to those of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

For Moses writes about the righteousness which [is] of the law, "That the man who does those things shall live by them."

But the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them."

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree,"

Therefore, [is] the law against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given which was able to give life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

But the Scripture has confined all under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
