And they were bringing to Him little children, that He might touch them; but the disciples were rebuking those who brought them.

But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and said to them, "Allow the little children come to Me, do not hinder them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

"He said to them, 'An enemy did this.' So the servants said to him, 'Do you wish then that we should go and gather them up?'

"But he said, 'No, lest gathering up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them.

What then? Nevertheless in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed; and in this I rejoice, yet also I will rejoice.

Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name we cast out demons, and in Your name we did many mighty works?'

"And then I will confess to them, 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, you who work iniquity!'

Then some of the wandering Jews, exorcists, attempted to name the name of the Lord Jesus over those having the evil spirits, saying, "We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches."

But the evil spirit answered and said, "Jesus I know, and Paul I am acquainted with; but who are you?"

But I treat my body roughly, and I bring it into subjection, lest, having preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become [as] sounding brass or a clashing cymbal.

And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says "Jesus be cursed," and no one can say that Jesus [is] Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
