[ 6:6] And the Lord God, having seen that the wicked actions of men were multiplied upon the earth, and that everyone in his heart was intently brooding over evil continually,

And the Lord God smelled an aroma of sweetness, and the Lord God having considered, said, I will never again curse the earth, because of the works of men, because the imagination of man is intently bent upon evil things from his youth, I will never again smite all living flesh as I have done.

For who shall be pure from uncleanness? Not even one;

For who, being a mortal, [is such] that he shall be blameless? Or [who that is] born of a woman, that he should be just?

Alas then, abominable and unclean is man, drinking unrighteousness as a draught.

For how shall a mortal be just before the Lord? Or who that is born of a woman shall purify himself?

For the end, A Psalm of David. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They have corrupted [themselves], and have become abominable in their devices; there is none that does good, there is not so much as one.

They have all gone out of the way, they have together become corrupt, there is none that does good, no not one. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have used deceit. The poison of asps is under their lips: whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness; their feet are swift to shed blood: destruction and misery are in their ways; and the way of peace they have not known: there is no fear of God before their eyes.

For the end, [A Psalm] of David upon Mahalath, of instruction. The fool has said in his heart, There is no God. They have corrupted [themselves,] and have become abominable in iniquities; there is none that does good.

They have all gone out of the way, they have together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, there is not even one.

For you work iniquities in [your] hearts in the earth; your hands plot unrighteousness.

Sinners have gone astray from the womb; they go astray from the belly; they speak lies.

Keep your heart with the utmost care, for out of these are the issues of life.

Cleanse your heart from wickedness, O Jerusalem, that you may be saved; how long will your grievous thoughts be within you?

The heart is deep beyond all things, and it constitutes the man, and who can know him?

For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and unrighteousness.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and of all uncleanness.

And He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. Because that which is exalted among men is an abomination before God.

While it remained unsold, did it not remain yours? And after it was sold, was it not in your control? Why have you purposed this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God."

Repent therefore from this your wickedness, and make petition to God, if perhaps the intent of your heart will be forgiven you.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions aroused through the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.

But sin, taking opportunity through the commandment, produced in me every kind of lust. For apart from the law sin [was] dead.

Therefore the mind of the flesh is enmity against God; for it does not submit to the law of God, nor indeed can it.

And those that are in the flesh cannot please God.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are: adultery, fornication, immorality, lewdness,

envies, murders, drinking bouts, revelries, and the like; which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, being enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

But each [one] is tempted by his own lusts, being drawn away and being seduced [by them].

Then lust, when it conceives, gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

From where [come] wars and disputes among you? Is it not from here, from your lusts, which war in your members?

You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend [it] in [gratifying] your lusts.

that he no longer should live the remaining time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

For we have spent enough of our past lifetime to accomplish the will of the Gentiles--having walked in wantonness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries.

The Lord pulls down the houses of scorners, but He establishes the border of the widow.

And their feet run to wickedness, [and are] swift to shed blood; their thoughts also are thoughts of murder; destruction and misery are in their ways;

Thus says the Lord God: It shall also come to pass in that day, that thoughts shall rise up into your heart, and you shall devise an evil plan.

But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts?

and so did you not differentiate among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?
