And the scribes who were from Jerusalem came down and were saying, "He has Beelzebul," and, "By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons."

Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem approached Jesus, saying,

Now it happened on a certain day that He was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there, who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was [present] to heal them.

And as He said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be dreadfully hostile, and to cross-examine Him about many things,

lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him in something He might say, so that they might accuse Him.
