Now when evening came, His disciples came to Him, saying, "The place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Dismiss the crowds, that they may go to the villages and buy themselves food."
16
But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them [food] to eat."
17
And they said to Him, "We do not have [anything] here except five loaves of bread and two fish."
18
But He said, "Bring them here to Me."
19
And commanding the crowds to recline on the grass, taking the five loaves of bread and the two fish, looking up to heaven, He blessed, and breaking [them], He gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples [gave] to the crowds.
20
So they all ate and were satisfied, and they took up what they had left of the fragments, twelve baskets full.
21
Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, apart from women and children.
Luke 9:12-17

Now when the day began to decline, the twelve came and said to Him, "Dismiss the crowd, so that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and they may find lodging and find provisions; for we are in a deserted place here."

But He said to them, "You give them [something] to eat." And they said, "We have no more than five loaves of bread and two fish, unless we go and buy food for all these people."
14
For there were about five thousand men. And He said to His disciples, "Make them recline in groups of fifty."
15
And they did so, and made them all recline.
16
And taking the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.
17
So they all ate and were satisfied, and twelve baskets of the remaining fragments were taken up by them.
John 6:5-15

Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing that a large crowd was coming toward Him, He said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread, that these [people] may eat?"

But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He was about to do.

Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii [worth of] bread is not enough for them, that each of them might receive a little."

One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him,

There is a little boy here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they for so many?"
10
Then Jesus said, "Make the people to recline." Now there was much grass in that place. Therefore the men reclined, in number about five thousand.
11
And Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were reclining; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wished.
12
But when they were filled, He said to His disciples, "Gather up the leftover fragments, so that nothing may be lost."
13
Therefore they gathered [them] up, and they filled twelve baskets of fragments from the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.
14
Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said, "This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world."
15
Therefore Jesus, knowing that they were about to come and seize Him, that they might make Him king, withdrew to the mountain by Himself.
