But after [the] Sabbath, at the dawning toward [the] first [day] of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

And behold, a great earthquake occurred; for an angel of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

And His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
4
And the guards were shaken for fear of him, and became like dead [men].

But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
6
He is not here! For He is risen, just as He said. Come; see the place where the Lord was lying.
7
And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and behold, He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."
8
And going out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to report to His disciples.
9
And as they were going to report to His disciples, that behold, Jesus met them, saying, "Rejoice!" So they came and held His feet and worshipped Him.
10
Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go, report to My brothers that they should go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."
Luke 23:54
That day was the Preparation; the Sabbath was drawing near.

Then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. And they rested on the Sabbath, according to the commandment.
Luke 24:1-12

And on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.

But they found the stone having been rolled away from the tomb.

And going in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.

Then, as they became afraid and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?

He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee,
7
saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.'"
8
And they remembered His words.

And returning from the tomb, they reported all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
10
It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary [the mother] of James, and the rest with them, who told these things to the apostles.
11
And their words seemed like nonsense before them, and they disbelieved them.
12
But Peter rose up and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen strips lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.
John 19:31
Therefore the Jews, since it was the Preparation [Day], that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and they might be taken away.

Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and said to them, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him."

Peter therefore went out, and the other disciple, and were going to the tomb.

And the two together were running, and the other disciple outran Peter and came to the tomb first.

And stooping to look in, he saw the linen strips lying there; however he did not go in.

Then Simon Peter came, following him, and entered into the tomb; and he saw the linen strips lying there,
7
and the facecloth which had been on His head, not lying with the linen strips, but apart from [them], having been rolled up in one place.
8
Then the other disciple, who came to the tomb first, went in also; and he saw and believed.
9
For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
10
Then the disciples went away again to their own homes.
