Then they came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking about in the temple, the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders came to Him.

And He was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people were seeking to destroy Him,

Now it came to pass on one of those days, as He taught the people in the temple and preached the gospel, that the priests and the scribes, together with the elders, confronted Him

saying, "What do you think about the Christ? Whose Son is He?" They said to Him, "David's."

And He said to them, "How do they say that the Christ is the Son of David?

till I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet."'

Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the village of Bethlehem, where David was?"
