For the heart of this people has become dull, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes have closed, lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, lest they should understand with their hearts and turn back, that I should heal them.'

And Jesus answered and spoke to them again in parables, saying,

"The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a wedding for his son,

and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they did not want to come.

Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Say to those who are invited, "See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things [are] ready. Come to the wedding."'

"But not caring, they went away, one to his own field, another to his business.

And the rest seized his servants, mistreated [them], and killed [them].

And when that king heard, he was furious. And he sent out his troops, and he destroyed those murderers, and he burned up their city.
8
Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding indeed is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.
9
Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.'
10
"So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding [hall] was filled with guests.
11
But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there not dressed with wedding clothes.
12
So he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here not having wedding clothes?' And he was speechless.
13
Then the king said to the servants, 'Tie him up hands and feet, take him away, and cast [him] into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
14
"For many are called, but few are chosen."

"But when the farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and let us gain possession of his inheritance.'

"And taking him, they cast [him] out of the vineyard and killed [him].
40
Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers?"
Luke 20:9-15

Then He began to tell the people this parable: "A man planted a vineyard, leased it to farmers, and went on a journey for a long time.

Now at vintage-time he sent a servant to the farmers, that they might give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers flogged him and sent him away empty-handed.

And again he sent another servant; and they flogged him also, treated him shamefully, and sent [him] away empty-handed.

And again he sent a third; and they wounded him also and threw [him] out.

Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Perhaps when they see him they will respect [him].'

But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, so that the inheritance may be ours.'
15
And casting him out of the vineyard, they killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

Luke 13:6-9

He also spoke this parable: "A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit on it and found none.

Then he said to the vinedresser, 'Look, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and I haven't found [any]. Cut it down; why does it even waste the ground?'

But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it.

And if it produces fruit, [fine]. But if not, in the coming [year], you can cut it down.'"

"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

Every branch in Me which does not bear fruit He takes away; and every [branch] which bears fruit He prunes, so that it may bear more fruit.

You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

Abide in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit on its own, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.

If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out like a branch and dries up; and they gather them and throw [them] into the fire, and they are burned.

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what ever you may desire, and it shall be done for you.

By this My Father is glorified, that you may bear much fruit; and you will become My disciples.
Romans 11:17-24

But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in [among] them, and became a partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree,

do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, [remember] that you do not support the root, but the root [supports] you.
19
You will say then, "Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in."
20
Well [said]. By unbelief they were broken off, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but fear.
21
For if God did not spare the natural branches, perhaps He may not spare you either.
22
Behold then the kindness and severity of God: upon those that fell, severity; but upon you, kindness, if you continue in His kindness. Otherwise you also shall be cut off.

And they also, if they do not remain in unbelief, shall be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.
24
For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more shall these, the natural ones, be grafted into their own olive tree?
