And each said to his brother, Yes, indeed, for we are in fault concerning our brother, when we disregarded the anguish of his soul, when he pleaded with us, and we would not hear him; therefore has this affliction come upon us.

And Reuben answered them, saying, Did I not speak to you, saying, Do not hurt the boy, and you would not listen? Therefore behold, his blood is now required of us.

And Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, I have sinned this time: the Lord is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

And Pharaoh hastened to call Moses and Aaron, saying, I have sinned before the Lord your God, and against you.

Therefore pardon my sin yet this time, and pray to the Lord your God, and let Him take away from me this death.

And Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron by night, and said to them, Rise and depart from my people, both you and the children of Israel. Go and serve the Lord your God, even as you say.

And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned, in that I have transgressed the word of the Lord and your direction; for I feared the people, and I listened to their voice.

And Saul said, I have sinned; yet honor me, I pray, before the elders of Israel, and before my people; and turn back with me, and I will worship the Lord your God.

So when the centurion and those with him guarding Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they were greatly afraid, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God!"

Moreover he shed innocent blood, and filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, and the Lord would not pardon [it].

But be certain of this, that if you kill me, you shall bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon its inhabitants; for in truth the Lord has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears.

And they cried to the Lord, and said, Forbid it, Lord: let us not perish for the sake of this man's life, and bring not righteous blood upon us: for You, O Lord, have done as You willed.

Then he said to them the third [time], "Why, what evil did He do? I have found no guilt deserving death in Him. Therefore when I have flogged Him, I will release [Him]."

And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this Man did nothing wrong."

And when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, "Certainly this was a righteous Man!"

The Jews answered him, "We have a law, and according to our law He ought to die, because He made Himself the Son of God."

And finding no cause for death, they asked Pilate that He be executed.

For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, innocent, undefiled, having been separated from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens;

but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb blameless and spotless,

And all the people answered and said, "His blood [be] on us and on our children."

But if it is a question about a word and names and your own law, see [to it] yourselves; for I do not wish to be a judge of these things."

Then all the Greeks, taking hold of Sosthenes the ruler of the synagogue, were beating him before the judgment seat. And none of these things was a concern to Gallio.

speaking lies in hypocrisy, having been seared with a hot iron [as to] their own conscience,

They profess to know God, but in their works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

not as Cain who was of the evil one and slew his brother. And for what reason did he slay him? Because his works were evil and the [works] of his brother were righteous.

And those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry, and give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

And Saul instantly fell at his full length upon the earth, and was greatly afraid because of the words of Samuel; and there was no longer any strength in him, for he had eaten no bread all that day, and all that night.

But you are all bad physicians, and healers of diseases.

I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are you all!

But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things, but now here he is comforted and you are suffering.

And besides all this, between us and you a great gulf has been fixed, so that those who desire to cross [over] from here to you are not able, nor may those from there cross over to us.'
