[ 6:3] that the sons of God, having seen the daughters of men, that they were beautiful, took to themselves wives of all whom they chose.

And Abigail came to Nabal. And behold, he had a banquet in his house, as the banquet of a king, and the heart of Nabal was merry within him, and he was very drunk. And she told him nothing great or small till the morning light.

And it came to pass after about ten days, that the Lord struck Nabal, and he died.

So he brought him down there, and behold, they were scattered abroad upon the surface of the whole land, eating and drinking, and feasting by reason of all the great spoils which they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.

And David came upon them, and attacked them from the morning till the evening, and on the next day; and not one of them escaped, except four hundred young men, who were mounted on camels, and fled.

And the Lord, the Lord of hosts, called in that day for weeping, and lamentation, and baldness, and for girding with sackcloth;

And these things are revealed in the ears of the Lord of hosts; for this sin shall not be forgiven you, until you die.

Moreover this was the sin of your sister Sodom- pride. She and her daughters lived in pleasure, in fullness of bread [and] in abundance; this belonged to her and her daughters, and they helped not the hand of the poor and needy.

And they boasted, and worked iniquities before Me: so I cut them off as I saw [fit].

You who are approaching the evil day, who are drawing near and adopting false sabbaths;

who excel in the sound of musical instruments; they have regarded them as abiding, not as fleeting [pleasures];

And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid away for many years; relax; eat, drink, and be merry."'

But if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk,

But they all with one [accord] began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, 'I bought a field, and I must go and see it. I ask you, have me excused.'

Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.'

And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man.

Likewise also as it happened in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;

"But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and worries of life, and that Day come upon you unexpectedly.

Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelries and drinking bouts, not in orgies and debaucheries, not in strife and jealousy.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, for [its] lusts.

But this I say, brothers, the time has been shortened; so that from now on even those having wives should be as though they had none,

and those using this world as not using it up. For the form of this world is passing away.
