And it came to pass when King Jeroboam heard the words of the man of God who called on the altar that was in Bethel, that the king stretched forth his hand from the altar, saying, Take hold of him. And behold, his hand which he stretched forth against him withered, and he could not draw it back to himself.

And King Jeroboam said to the man of God, Intreat the Lord your God, and let my hand be restored to me. And the man of God intreated the Lord, and He restored the king's hand to him, and it became as before.

Alas for the vain shepherds that have forsaken the sheep! The sword shall be upon the arms of such a one, and upon his right eye; his arm shall be completely withered, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened.

In these [porches] were lying a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water.

The Pharisees also came to Him, testing Him, and saying to Him, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for just any reason?"

Tell us, therefore, what do You think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?"

But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, "Why do you test Me, [you] hypocrites?

But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd, "There are six days in which one should work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day."

And Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?"

Then He answered them, saying, "Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?"

Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"

Therefore the Jews said to the man who was healed, "It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed."

Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, "This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath." Others said, "How can a sinful man do such signs?" And there was a division among them.

For the fool shall speak foolish words, and his heart shall meditate vanities, and to perform lawless deeds and to speak error against the Lord, to scatter hungry souls, and He will cause the thirsty souls to be empty.

None speaks justly, neither is there true judgment; they trust in vanities, and speak empty [words]; for they conceive trouble, and bring forth iniquity.

We have sinned, and dealt falsely, and revolted from our God; we have spoken unrighteous words, and have been disobedient; we have conceived and uttered from our heart unrighteous words.

Now it happened that on another Sabbath, He entered the synagogue and was teaching. And there was a man there whose right hand was withered.

And the scribes and Pharisees were observing if whether He would heal on the Sabbath, that they might find an accusation against Him.

lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him in something He might say, so that they might accuse Him.

And they began to accuse Him, saying, "We found this [Man] perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay taxes to Caesar, saying that He Himself is Christ, a King."

said to them, "You have brought this Man to me, on the charge of misleading the people. And indeed, when I examined Him in your presence, I found no guilt in this Man in the matters which you bring as charges against Him;

But this they said, testing Him, that they might have an accusation against Him. But Jesus, stooping down, began to write on the ground with His finger, not taking notice.
