And if I too was glad at the fall of my enemies, and my heart said, Aha!

lest at any time my enemy say, I have prevailed against him: my persecutors will exalt if ever I should be moved.

I will sing to the Lord who has dealt bountifully with me, and I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord Most High.

Yet they rejoiced against me, and plagues were plentifully brought against me, and I knew [it] not; they were scattered, but repented not.

They tempted me, they sneered at me most contemptuously, they gnashed their teeth upon me.

Let not them that are my enemies rejoice against me without a cause; who hate me for nothing, and wink with their eyes.

Judge me, O Lord, according to Your righteousness, O Lord my God; and let them not rejoice against me.

Let them be confounded and ashamed together that rejoice at my afflictions; let them be clothed with shame and confusion that speak great swelling words against me.

For I said, Lest my enemies rejoice against me; for when my feet were moved, they spoke boastfully against me.

If your enemy should fall, rejoice not over him, neither be elated at his overthrow.

For the Lord will see it, and it will not please Him, and He will turn away His wrath from him.

Because you rejoiced, and boasted, [while] plundering My heritage; because you exulted as calves in the grass, and pushed with the horn as bulls.

CHSEN. Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwell in the land; yet the cup of the Lord shall pass through to you: you shall be drunken, and pour forth.

THAU. O daughter of Zion, your iniquity has come to an end; He shall no longer carry you captive: He has visited your iniquities, O daughter of Edom; He has discovered your sins.

For thus says the Lord: Because you have clapped your hands, and stamped with your foot, and heartily rejoiced against the land of Israel;

You shall be desolate, O Mount Seir, and all of Edom; and it shall be utterly consumed; and you shall know that I am the Lord their God.

And you should not have looked on the day of your brother in the day of strangers; nor should you have rejoiced against the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither should you have boasted in the day of their affliction.

Most assuredly I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be grieved, but your grief will be turned into joy.

And those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry, and give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

The sinner borrows, and will not pay again; but the righteous has compassion, and gives.

But You, O Lord, have compassion upon me, and raise me up, and I shall requite them.

But You helped me because of [my] innocence, and have established me before You forever.

For a righteous man will fall seven times, and rise [again], but the ungodly shall be without strength in troubles.

[even] them that sit in darkness and the shadow of death, fettered in poverty and irons;

So their heart was brought low with troubles; they were weak, and there was no helper.

And He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces.

To the upright light has sprung up in darkness; he is pitiful, and merciful, and righteous.

O people walking in darkness, behold a great light; you that dwell in the region [and] shadow of death, a light shall shine upon you.

saying to them that are in bonds, Go forth; and [bidding] them that are in darkness, show themselves. They shall be fed in all the ways, and in all the paths [shall be] their pasture.

Who is among you that fears the Lord? Let him hearken to the voice of His servant; you that walk in darkness, and have no light, trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon God.

the people sitting in darkness have seen a great light, and to those who sat in the land and the shadow of death, light sprang up on them."

through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us;

to give light to them that sit in darkness and [in] the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."

[A Psalm] of David, before he was anointed. The Lord is my light and my Savior; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the defender of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

For the Lord loves mercy and truth; God will give grace and glory; the Lord will not withhold good things from them that walk in innocence.

Light has sprung up for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

To the upright light has sprung up in darkness; he is pitiful, and merciful, and righteous.

And now, O house of Jacob, come, [and] let us walk in the light of the Lord.

Be enlightened, be enlightened, O Jerusalem, for your light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!

And kings shall walk in your light, and nations in your brightness.

But to you that fear My name shall the Sun of righteousness arise, and healing [shall be] in His wings: and you shall go forth, and bound as young calves let loose from bonds.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He that follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the authority of Satan to God, [in order for] them to receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.'

Because it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts to give [the] light of the knowledge of the glory of God in [the] face of Jesus Christ.

The city had no need of the sun nor of the moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

And night shall not exist. and there [shall] not [be a] need of a lamp and of light, because the Lord God shall illuminate them. And they shall reign forever and ever.
