And the sailors were alarmed, and cried everyone to his god, and cast out the wares that were in the ship into the sea, that it might be lightened of them. But Jonah had gone down into the hold of the ship, and was asleep, and snored.

And he entered there into a cave, and rested there. And behold, the word of the Lord [came] to him, and He said, What are you [doing] here, Elijah?

And it came to pass when Elijah heard, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went forth and stood in the cave. And behold, a voice [came] to him and said, What are you [doing] here, Elijah?

On account of sin for a little while I grieved him and struck him, and turned away My face from him; and he was grieved, and he went on sorrowful in his ways.

Then I said, I will by no means name the name of the Lord, and I will no longer speak in His name. But it was a burning fire flaming in my bones, and I am utterly weakened on all sides, and cannot bear [up].

And Abraham rose up early to go to the place where he had stood before the Lord.

And he looked towards Sodom and Gomorrah, and towards the surrounding country, and saw, and behold, a flame went up from the earth, as the smoke of a furnace.

Behold, they say to me, Where is the word of the Lord? Let it come.

But I have not been weary of following You, nor have I desired the day of man. You know the [words] that proceed out of my lips; [they] are before Your face.

And as He drew near, seeing the city, He wept over it,

For days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, surround you and hem you in from every side,
