And God said to Jonah, Are you very much grieved for the gourd? And he said, I am very much grieved, even to death.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I wish with my own [things]? Or is your eye evil because I am good?'

Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke within himself, saying, "This [Man], if He were a prophet, would know who and what sort of woman [this is] who touches Him, for she is a sinner."

But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and began to plead with him.

But Paul and Barnabas, speaking boldly said, "It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken to you first; but since you thrust it away, and judge yourselves not worthy of eternal life; behold, we turn to the Gentiles.

Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"?

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."
