And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, What do you see? And I said, A rod of an almond tree.

And the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, What do you see? And I said, A caldron on the fire; and the face of it is toward the north.

And he said to me, What do you see? And I said, I see a flying sickle, its length [is] twenty cubits, and its width [is] ten cubits.

HETH. And He has turned to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion; He has stretched out the measuring line, He has not turned back His hand from afflicting her; therefore the bulwark mourned, and the wall was weakened with it.

And He said, What do you see, Amos? And I said, A fowler's basket. And the Lord said to me, The end has come upon My people Israel; I will not pass by them anymore.

You have turned away from Me, says the Lord, you will go back. Therefore I will stretch out My hand, and I will destroy you, and will spare them no more.

Thus says the Lord: An end has come to the land of Israel, the end has come on the four corners of the land.

My eye shall not spare, nor will I have any mercy, for I will recompense your way upon you, and your abominations shall be in the midst of you; and you shall know that I am the Lord.

The end has come on you,

Now I will pour out My anger upon you near at hand, and I will accomplish My wrath on you: and I will judge you for your ways, and recompense all your abominations upon you.

Who is a God like You, canceling iniquities, and passing over the sins of the remnant of His inheritance? And He has not kept His anger for a testimony, for He delights in mercy.

But with an overrunning flood He will make an utter end: darkness shall pursue those that rise up against [Him] and His enemies.

What do you devise against the Lord? He will make a complete end: He will not take vengeance by affliction twice at the same time.
