They shall not take a woman who is a harlot and profaned, or a woman put away from her husband; for he is holy to the Lord his God.

Neither shall they take to themselves a widow for a wife, or one that is put away, but a virgin of the seed of Israel. But if there should happen to be a priest's widow, they shall take [her].

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy, for I have betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ.

These are those who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever He may go. These were redeemed by Jesus from [among] men, firstfruits to God and to the Lamb.
